Is Our Ethical Standard “Measuring Up”

The Kenan Institue for Ethics at Duke University has developed and made available a free online assessment tool called Measure Up to help employees and management gauge the ethical quality of their work environment.  Measure Up  provides a clear way to understand workplace culture by breaking down ethics into five categories:  accountability, transparency, candor, commitment, and courage.  The assessment, which takes about 20 minutes to complete, reveals what an organization does well and identifies roadblocks that may be hindering performance.

The free online assessment tool called Measure Up is something I can use at my present job. As a social worker I face many ethical delimmas’ and struggle with ways to inform my collegues without sounding like I am the social work police. I can have them do the online assessment and we can discuss it at our monthly meetings.
